These leg shuffles are a great abdominal drill that can help students tap into their side core as well as the muscles that help shift the hips forward and backward. We always enjoy this drill because it is silly and playful. There is a benefit to doing the drill both forward and backward.
Our school culture is very non-competitive, but it is definitely possible to turn this drill into a playful race. Whoever shuffles to an end point and then shuffles back to the starting point wins.
