#29 | Handstand Conditioning - Shoulders and Straddles

Handstand Conditioning

Great conditioning class for actively opening shoulders and keeping the shoulders stable while in a straddle.  We’ll focus on tapping into back strength which is the base of the shoulder. We also focus on understanding where the bodyweight should be centered over the hand.
This is a replay of one of our popup live-streaming workshops. No aerial equipment needed!

Pre-requisites: You should be comfortable kicking up to a handstand at the wall without a spotter.

Props needed:

  • Yoga block or book. The less flexible your shoulders the bigger the book should be. 
  • A firm cushion or rolled-up towel. The less flexible your shoulders the bigger the prop should be. 
  • Wall space: enough to fit your middle split is best but less is sufficient.
