Front Balance Roll Ups on aerial hoop are awesome. They are challenging even for advanced students but accessible for beginner students who have some calmness in their front balance. They teach great technique and build strength that will be useful over and over again. They are an expressive artistic skill, the foundation for dynamic drops and dives, and wonderful conditioning. They are also the primary way to move the body from a hollow body shape to an arched body shape.
Make sure students have some calmness in their front balance holds before working on roll ups. This means their arms are mostly still and they can hold a front balance with good form for at least a few seconds.
