Twist in and out on an aerial hoop is one of the more elegant ways to get one leg on or off the hoop. We use the twist in to get from one leg up to seated and we’ll use the twist out to get from seated back onto one leg.

We encourage our beginner students to work on a Twist in and out right away because it helps build up tolerance on the hoop and rolling on the hoop is one of the most important fundamental movements on lyra.

Twisting in and out of the hoop feels and looks so much more fluid than just stuffing the foot in and out. It is also a great way for beginner students to get more comfortable rolling around on the hoop.
