This aerial silks sequence starts with a CASH Climb, and then transitions directly from there into a skill that we call Mission Impossible, then it exits from that skill through a different shape. There is a lot of room for exploration and aerial choreography creation in this sequence, and many places that you could find different shapes to pause in or move through.
We encourage our students to dive into fabric theory and that means being curious about new ways into and out of familiar skills. That’s also why the same skill can look so incredibly different depending on how you enter or exit from it.
This sequence also includes many resting positions, and when an aerialist has a good handle on their supports then they have a lot more freedom within the skills and transitions. When an aerialist performs it’s typically in the resting moments that the audience has a chance to breathe and catch up, and that’s usually where the applause happens too. So in any sequence remembering to take your time and enjoy the pauses is key, and we focus on that in this sequence as well.
