This is a really fun dive that starts in a hip key thread through and ends with the body sideways to the fabric. It’s quick to set up and execute, and easy to unwrap from at the end. This video will go over the progressions that we teach when we introduce this dive to our students.
It’s really important when approaching drops and dives to take some time to understand how the wraps work, and how the body needs to be positioned, and this video explains how we approach that process with our students. We’ll take you through the set-up including how to understand how the wrap works and how to make sure it is set correctly, walking it through on the floor and in the air, and adding momentum to complete the dive efficiently.
This is an intermediate level dive and if the set-up is not 100% correct it can go wrong, so make sure to train dives in the presence of someone with an experienced eye, to have extra safeties in place when approaching moves like this.
