The Illusion is a dynamic aerial silks skill that Anastasia discovered when she was translating a skill that’s usually done on sling, and taking it to silks. She named it the Illusion because it looks like something other than what it is. This aerial silks move can be done dynamically or slowly, and our tutorial covers both the slow and the dynamic progressions to help students understand and master this move.
We teach the non-dynamic version to our intermediate level aerial silk students who are already comfortable and strong in their inversions and inverted supports. We teach the dynamic version to our advanced aerial silk students who are comfortable with front to back beats on aerial silks. Our related drills cover many progressions and tips to help master and teach this exciting move.
