Splits are a classic aerial silks skill and splits control can be developed with a focus on form and technique. We teach Splits in beginner level classes once students can put on their Double Figure 8 Footlocks from the Ground.

Learning to control the legs in double footlocks is important, and training splits with a strong focus on initiating with the legs, and hugging the legs together to exit, will help build strong habits to help students with all sorts of skills and transitions on aerial silks, including but not limited to Splits Roll Ups, Crossback Straddle entrances and exits, and any huge variety of skills and choreography on split fabrics.
