This aerial silks drop is a roll down the fabric that’s really clever and has a unique look. The wrap for Peter Pan Roll Down, also sometimes called Pirouette Drop, combines an S wrap with a thigh hitch, and the fabric tail wraps around the torso during the roll down. In our aerial silks curriculum we put this move somewhere between an open drop and a locked drop. It feels and looks open because of the way we catch with the arm to finish, but there is still a lock formed at the bottom so it’s not completely open. This is an advanced drop and we only teach it to our advanced aerial silk students because it requires the ability to control your sideways rotations down the silk. We also always add additional support to the wrap for safety when our students are first learning. This tutorial video covers our progressions and tips for this move, as well as several different entries to consider.
