The Skin the Cat transition from Catchers to Half Catchers on aerial sling can look like magic at first. Our aerial sling students are usually awed by it, and then they’re often pleasantly surprised when it’s more accessible than they expected. This unique looking sling combo requires some mobility in the front of the hip, and some strength in the back of the leg.

Our aerial sling teaching tutorial video for this combo covers progressions and tips to make it work successfully, but be let our teachers know to be aware when they’re class planning that this skill involves active mobility to reach the leg behind the body, and then a tight tuck to finish the transition. Some bodies will just not fit through this space and they should be offered alternative pathways. Some bodies can find success if they focus on their active mobility, but patience will be required. Our teaching tutorial video to from from Catchers Wrap to Half Catchers Wrap through the Skin the Cat pathway covers our teaching tips and drills for this intricate transition on aerial sling.
