This split fabric entrance into a single footlock is beautiful and quick becoming a classic. It puts you in a single Dancer Footlock or a Half Footlock in a unique and surprising way.
There are a couple of different ways to set this up, and we’ll show two options in this video. One option we show requires less strength than the other, but both are useful in different ways and can be used for stylization.
There is a less common version of this same entrance that’s done with the fabrics together, and that version is linked in our variations below. Both are unique and surprising and add an element of choreographic flair to the process of putting on a footlock.
We teach this to our intermediate level students who are comfortable with a variety of skills in footlocks on split fabrics, and ready for more choreographic options and challenges.
