When we perform a straddle up in the air, we need to lift and rotate the legs externally. This ground exercise helps to strengthen the deep hip muscles that rotate the legs outward. This drill improves inversions and is a great addition to a full aerial conditioning program. You will need a long resistance band for this exercise.
