Back Lion Droplet is a very brief and quick droplet down to an Angel on Aerial Hoop. Even though this droplet is a relatively small drop, it still has the potential to be very jarring on the body and neck. We use a number of progressions to start students with a two handed walk down version and eventually work students up to a one handed version.

The goal of the progressions is to make sure students always have choices to progress at their own speed and to build up the strength and awareness to keep the head and neck stable and protected from whiplash. The earlier progressions of this skill have a shorter stopping distance which means the skill may feel hard on the body and may look a little less graceful than other skills. The final, one armed version has a longer stopping distance and when done properly will feel less jarring and look more graceful.
