Horse Lifts on Aerial Hoop are a conditioning drill that helps with any skill that uses one pushing arm and one pulling arm. While the concept of Horse Lifts is simple to understand, the reality is a lot more complex. We actually thought this drill would be a quick, nothing-to-it moment for our students. Instead, it has developed into its own complete thing.

We’ve learned to warn students to be emotionally prepared for the fact that Horse Lifts are a lot harder than they look.
Horse Lifts are super important to train on both sides. The muscle action this drill trains shows up in so many skills and often on the less dominant side of those skills. Also, being balanced is a good thing.
