Hanging Leg Lifts on Aerial Hoop are a key conditioning drill that can unlock many future options. They support mounts, inversions, and a wide range of skills on aerial silks. Once students can easefully lift their legs up to the hoop from a variety of different hanging positions, their transitions will feel and look more fluid. Leg lifts rely on deep core activation to stabilize the body so the rest of the muscles can work together to lift the legs. This is one drill that students may not enjoy doing, but often recognize later how valuable it really is.

Leg lifts are notorious for sounding easier than they actually are. We have developed several leg lift variations to make sure our students always have an opportunity to succeed and are training at an appropriate challenge level. Then each of these variations have their own progressions. This tutorial will cover all of these variations and progressions.
