Skin the Cat on Aerial Hoop is a dramatic inverted position that can be used as a stunning shape in choreography or as a super valuable conditioning drill. We introduce our students to this skill with very small steps because it is very challenging and potentially dangerous, especially for students who are hyper mobile. This video will cover several variations from easier to much harder as well as several spotting options.
Skin the Cats are a super awesome power skill. We love them because the training path is fairly linear. Students can start with small ranges of motions and continue working on them adding a little more depth over time. The patient and persistent students will usually be pleased by the linear progress they can make over time which is fairly rare in aerial skills.
