The Splits Down In Front to Elbow Hang Sequence on Aerial Hoop is an intermediate to advanced-intermediate level sequence. It can be used for both performance and teaching. This sequence helps students develop planning skills, grip endurance, and balance between both sides of the body. It is especially beneficial for students who are close to achieving consistent inversions but need more training before their inversions are performance ready.
There are two versions of this sequence, and we will go over both. One version requires tucking and compressing one leg under the hoop, which may not be accessible for some students. The other version has an alternative skill that doesn’t require as much compression. This version is unique in its own way, and many students find it more interesting.
