FAQ: Membership Gifting
Will I be charged for future payments?
No. If you select the gift option, then the gifted membership will only be valid for one cycle, after which the gifted membership will expire. No future charges will occur.
Will the gift recipient be charged for future payments?
No. If you select the gift option, then the recipient will receive a membership that will only be valid for one cycle, after which the gifted membership will expire. We will give the recipient an opportunity to start another membership with their own payment information.
If the recipient opts to renew their membership, will I be charged for their renewal?
No. We hope the recipient will want to renew their gifted membership, but in order to renew their membership, they will need to supply their own payment information.
I see your non-gifted memberships have a trial period. Will the recipient of the gift get a trial period?
No. All trial periods will be overridden when a user signs up for a gifted subscription. For example, if the membership terms are set to 7 days for $11.99, and then $49.99 a month, the recipient will get a month’s worth of access instead of the 7 day trial.
When I purchase a gift membership, does the one month or one year clock start immediately?
No. Once you complete the gift membership purchase, an email will be sent to the recipient with a link to redeem their gifted subscription to a membership.
After the recipient of the gift receives the email, they can click on the link provided in the email to register for their gifted membership. They will fill out a standard registration form that a normal user would use to sign up. Once the user clicks on the Signup button, their subscription will start.
Can I give a free membership as a gift?
No. A free membership cannot be gifted.
