Russian Somersault Climb is a cross between a Russian Climb and a Big Russian Climb, with a somersault in the middle. We teach this at the end of our beginner level or the beginning of our intermediate level aerial silks curriculum, once students are comfortable with Russian and Big Russian climb as well as important related skills like Pullover Dismount and Walkover To Tuck.

This variation is fun to explore and students are often empowered by it. It is similar to related skills like Cape Splits as well. Be aware of where the tail is ending up and make sure to drop the fabrics off the feet completely when exiting from this variation.
