Single Strand S Wrap Thread Through to Crossback Sequence on Aerial Silks

This exploration on aerial silks grew out of my interest in fabric theory, and looking at how an S-wrap is similar to a cross behind the back. This sequence starts in a Single Strand S-wrap Thread Through and then transitions through that support into a cross behind the back.

This clever transition is surprising and satisfying, and our video shows it done two ways, with pauses in nice supported shapes, and without pauses for a more direct transition.

This is a transition that we teach to our experienced aerial silk students, who are ready for fabric puzzles and to test out their understanding of how wraps connect on aerial silks.
