Catchers Up Down Warm Up Sequence on aerial sling is a combo that we teach in our level 1 aerial sling classes. It’s for students who are starting to learn Catchers Wrap and Half Catchers Wrap. This simple sequence helps students make connections between the wraps, as it builds inversion and straddling up strength as well. When we teach aerial sling we start working on inversion and pull up strength with our beginner students right away, by incorporating those actions into as many supported transitions as possible. That makes it more fun and it also means that our sling students can be learning plenty of new skills and transitions as they build up their inversion strength over time.

Once this sequence has been learned, then it can become a part of the students regular warm-up on sling as long as they remember to go through the sequence once on each side of the body. This sequence is fairly simple but there are a few important tips we’re looking for when we teach it to our students, and we cover those details in our aerial sling tutorial video for this sequence.
