Some forward dives are wrapped in a way that causes momentum to take over, and in those types of dives it’s important to control the momentum with body shaping and engagement. This particular aerial sling dive is more of a teaching tool than a performance move, but you’ll find that mastering this dive does carry over to more performative dives as well. For that reason this is a fundamental drop that we teach our aerial sling students before progressing them into larger versions.
