A Knee Hook Press Splits: Outside on Aerial Hoop is a modern take on a classic skill. The end position for this skill is exactly the same as Knee Hook Press Splits: Inside but the leg pathway is very different.

We love teaching this skill because it eliminates the need to pass the knee underneath the top of the hoop which is always a struggle for students. We also like how it challenges students to lift the hips while one leg is fan kicking around the hoop. This entrance also requires a bit more advanced planning and we always like to see our students thinking ahead on the apparatus.
