Open Angel on Aerial Hoop is very similar to Angel, except in an Open Angel the same hand and knee stay on the hoop. We teach two variations of this skill. Inside Open Angel uses an inside knee hook and Outside Open Angel uses an outside knee hook.
Both variations of Open Angel are fairly simple, but we have found that students often struggle with differentiating between an Open Angel and a regular Angel, especially when switching sides. Often students should be doing a regular Angel, but they accidentally go to an Open Angel or vice versa.
