Lotus Seat is a fun and unexpected footlock skill that we teach in our beginner aerial silk classes. It can lead to an inverted version (Lotus Hang) even with the footlock is set fairly low to the ground.

This skill requires strong feet, ankles, and hips and comfort in a Footlock. It also teaches students to stand up tall through their spine and that pressing the hips forward can create support against the fabric. Those ideas will help students with related skills like Basic Stand Through the Middle and Single Arm Slide Descent.
