Russian Flirt Climb, also called Big Russian, is a classic and it’s also a foundation for many transitions that we use in intermediate and advanced level aerial silks classes. We teach Russian Flirt at the beginning of our intermediate level once students are comfortable with a Russian Climb and ready for additional challenge.

This climb can be challenging as it requires a strong scissoring action and a strong fan kick. Working on it also means that students are getting stronger for their Windmill Hip Keys at the same time. We have developed many drills, tips, and progressions for this skill because doing it well also helps with so many other challenging skills like Windmill Hip Keys.
