Pull Ups with a resistance band on aerial hoop are a great way to build upper body strength and control.

Pull Ups are challenging for most adults. If you teach aerial to adults, you’ll likely have more students who can’t yet do a pull up than students who can. When pull up strength improves, everything in aerial becomes just a little easier. This drill doesn’t require a lot of pull up strength to be beneficial. It’s accessible to most beginner studentsd and useful for everyone, whether they can already do a pull up or not.

This drill uses a resistance band to guide a student through the full range of motion in a pull up. For students who can’t yet do one, it builds strength while teaching the proper pull up pattern. As they improve, they can switch to progressively lighter bands. And for students who already have pull ups, this drill helps them slow things down, do more reps, and focus on refining each part of the motion.
