The Knee Hang Spiral Down on Aerial Hoop is a fun and smooth way to transition down from sitting or a knee hang on the top bar to sitting on the bottom bar. It is similar to the Mermaid Spiral Down variation found in the Mermaid: Standing tutorial, but many of our students find it more challenging due to the number of steps that are happening simultaneously.
It is important to remind students that the hoop can hit the student in the head as it moves around the body. We guide students through each step slowly to teach them how to track the hoop and stay clear as they transition down to sit on the bottom bar.
