Keeping the shoulders happy and healthy is key for anyone getting started or going deeper into aerial training. We use Shoulder Shrugs to help students begin to learn how to find a strong hanging position, while still keeping some weight in their feet on the ground. Shrugs are typically included as part of an aerial warm-up, and they are a good place to practice finding the right shoulder and core engagement to hang strongly in the air.
