Splits Balance is a challenging skill and Splits Roll Up Into Splits Balance is our students’ first introduction to it. This variation is very supported and easy to scale up or down in the balance, so it can give newer students a taste of Splits Balance without commiting to the skill.

We typically teach this at the end of our beginner level or at the beginning of our intermediate level curriculum, once students are strong and confident in their Split Roll-Ups and ready for more challenge.

Alternating the direction of each split roll up is also a good challenge for students who are already comfortable with a more traditional Splits Roll-Up. The support that this variation adds to each leg is a good place to start working on balancing a split in the air.
