Backwards Tick Tock in the Knot is a drop that bridges the gap between smaller beginner level drops in the knot, and intermediate level drops out of the knot. We teach this at the end of our beginner level curriculum, or as students transition into intermediate level silks. We enjoy this variation in the knot because it has the potential to be very controlled and slow, and that’s how we teach it when students are learning.
Backwards Tick Tock in the knot also makes a good preparation for Backwards Tock Tock, and any similar variations of drops that initiate in a backwards direction before changing directions. Because it can be so easily controlled it’s a good one to teach to make sure that students are holding strong engagement to keep their back, neck, and the rest of their body healthy as they drop through space.
