Thigh Hitch Seat, also sometimes called Swing Seat, is a classic and it’s one that students love. It’s a really versatile skill because there are a lot of things to do with it, and a lot of places to go with it. This video focuses on getting into and getting out of it cleanly and efficiently, and exploring a few very simple variations including taking one leg out and finding nice shapes in the skill.

We teach this early in our intermediate level classes, once students are comfortable getting into Thigh Hitch, either from a Hip Key or from a Same Side Climb. It can be explored alongside a related skill that we call Hip Key Fake Seat, to understand the fabric wraps and theory that make this skill work.
