This drill focuses on extension through the hips and legs. It utilizes a strong pelvic tilt and glute squeeze to extend the hips. It’s a great strengthening exercise and pathway building drill for lifting the body to stand in the silks, such as from a back arabesque.

Performing this drill will require putting the feet on a sturdy object such as a sofa or heavy chair while lying down.
