Arm circles are a good way to develop the overhead shoulder mobility needed to keep our bodies happy while hanging from our hands. It also helps train healthy pathways for large shoulder motions. We include some variation of arm circles in every aerial warm up.
This is an excerpt from one of our full length classes, which also discusses the actions of internal and external shoulder rotation. The drill can also be done at the wall, will require a bit of wall space, and is a great addition to an aerial prehab program.
