This drill is useful for finding the pathway of rolling upright from a head down position in an efficient way. This drill emphasizes a pelvic tilt and stacking the spine one vertebra at a time. It makes many transitions more efficient and easeful, and is simple to add into a warm-up. This drill translates well to skills such as returning upright from a lotus hang, a common sticking point for those new to the skill.
