The Inversion Dismount Conditioning Drill on Aerial Hoop has been a breakthrough drill for many of our students. Our students love that they can modify the difficulty of the drill to the level of challenge they want. As teachers, we love that this drill allows students to work more repetitions without failing out and if they do fail out it isn’t unsafe.
This drill trains strength, timing, and muscle coordination of the upper body and abs but not necessarily the pathway of the lower body. One way this could be an advantage is that it doesn’t require tucking under the bar which can be anatomically impossible for some students. The Inversion Dismount Conditioning Drill is not a one and done drill. Students will have to use this drill regularly and consistently to get the benefits, but it is well worth the effort. The drill is very easy to add to a warm up or conditioning section. And finally, remember small changes make a big difference in this drill. We coach and constantly fine tune our students so they get the most from the drill.
