A Shoulder Stand on Aerial Hoop is a marvelous and eye-catching skill. We consider this to be a double shoulder stand because both shoulders are resting on the hoop compared to single shoulder stand skills. Despite its appearance a Double Shoulder Stand is fairly accessible to experienced beginners. When approached with good progressions the most challenging aspect of the skill is simply getting into and out of the knee hang starting position on the top bar.
This tutorial includes keeping the hands on and taking them off as well as several leg variations. There are also more variations included in the variation section below. Some of these variations are much more challenging and we don’t consider them beginner friendly until they have mastered the easier variations.
