Double Crucifix Double Thigh Wrap is a boring name for a really important skill. This skill is simply the wrap created when the fabrics are crossed behind the back and then wrapped around each leg once. We teach this skill early on in our intermediate level aerial silk classes, once students have strong straddle ups with energy to spare and are comfortable with the cross behind their back.
There are a lot of skills that begin from this wrap, including classic dives like the 360 dive, and there are also many quicker and more interesting ways to get into the wrap. This video focuses on understanding the support, by building into it step by step and feeling how it best supports the aerialist both upside down and right side up.
