Ole Grip Turnaround to Star is a staple in our Level 1 aerial silks curriculum, and it’s one of our student’s favorites. This skill is actually a mini sequence and it involves a lot of fabric brain and body to make it smooth.
This skill involves turning around the fabric in pleasing ways, and teaching it effectively introduces students to the ideas that different grips will take you to different places, and that turning around the fabric also wraps it around your body.
This skill can lead to skills where the fabric is wrapped from one side of the body to the other, like Single Crucifix and Crucifix Arabesque. Its key concepts can also be practiced from split fabrics and added to various transitions and sequences.
