Cobra is an amazing conditioning and warmup drill for backbends. When it’s practiced with attention to detail, it brings the backbend into the upper back and strengthens the muscles that will keep it there, instead of pushing it into the lower back. That makes this drill invaluable for aerialists who want to keep their backs safe and strong while increasing the range of motion in their backbends.
