This series of drills is essential as pre-hab for aerialists. These exercises develop strength in the various muscles of the upper back that are necessary for proper rotation of the shoulder blades for overhead arm motions. Thus, keeping these muscles balanced and strong can help prevent injury.

These motions can be done with or without light weights. The video shows a few variations such as performing them lying face down versus on hands and knees.
