This Tofu Hook Sequence on Aerial Hoop is inspired by our local students. Years ago, we gave them the challenge of coming up with a fun under the bar sequence and this is one student’s suggestion. Everyone loved it and for a while it was all anyone wanted to do. They found so many ways to stylize the sequence to highlight their own unique strengths.
This video includes several minor variations of the sequence. The first variation has a full one arm Tofu Hook held for dramatic effect and exits down via an inverted straddle. The second variation uses a partial, bouncy Tofu Hook as a quick and playful transition between skills and exits up to a horse pose. The third variation does the sequence with two and a half mill circles and exits to a half hip hang.
This is a very playful and accessible sequence for fairly beginner students.
