Arched body is a key aerial position that’s important to train on the ground. Arched body involves activating the entire body and bringing the arch throughout the length of spine. The thoracic spine and glutes activate to complete the extension. The act of reaching the chest and legs away from each other during this motion protects the lower back from doing all of the work.

We often include this ground drill as part of our warm up, especially if we know our class will involve arched or backbending skills.
