This video shows an exploration of a teardrop climb. In this exploration I wanted to simply pause anyplace in the climb that I felt really stable and supported, and see if there was something else I could do.
We often lead our students in explorations like this, because exploring the supports leads to innovation and it also helps students really master their skills. Understanding which limbs are needed for support, and which parts of the body are free, is a great place to start exploring. And, knowing which direction to go to lock in or remove a support can help an aerialist discover new variations and new transitions as well.
