The “core” is not just in the abdominal muscles that allow you to perform sit ups, rather, it encompasses all the muscles of the trunk, including the side and back body! Performing these barrel rolls will help you tap into your deep core muscles and work into your spinal mobility. They are especially handy for waking up the muscles we use for c-shaping in skills like slow star roll downs. We include barrel rolls in our warm up for almost every class or training session.
