This ground drill is one of our favorites for c-shaping. It uses a foam roller to give tactile feedback so students can understand how to roll their body using c-shaping techniques. To create a c shape means that the spine bends like the letter c in all directions, front, sides, back, and everywhere in between.

C-shaping is an important part of aerial, because this type of movement creates control in the air. This drill is especially useful for skills like Slow Star Drops, Hip Key Roll Ups, or any aerial skill that requires resisting or defying gravity by turning sideways in the air.
