When this simple ground drill is done with attention to detail, it helps students find the muscles in their core that will help them control each part of their spine. We focus on initiating a pelvic tilt and stacking one vertebra at a time. It’s especially useful for skills that involve rolling through the spine, like front balance roll-ups or rolling up to stand. This drill is best done as part of a warm up or as a refresher prior to using the motion on your apparatus.
