This is a great ground drill for anyone working on their straddle up strength and technique. It’s especially useful for students trying to achieve a straight legged straddle up in the air. This drill can be challenging and our video covers modifications and tips to make it work. It is important when approaching this drill to have a solid understanding of deep core control, hollow body engagement, and leg rotation for straddles.
Supplementing this ground drill with related drills for the deep lower abs and external rotators of the hips is highly recommended.
